William K. Snyder

Engineer

William K. Snyder, alternatively called "Bill" or "Pop," was one of the early employees on the Rahway Valley Railroad. His service record is incomplete but he is known to have worked for the railroad as early as 1906. He was the RV's regular engineer for the majority of his time with the railroad.

Snyder was born in New Jersey in August 1874. He married his wife, Margaret, in 1901. She was a native of Ireland. The couple resided at 56 Passaic Ave., Kenilworth, with their three children, Allen, Howard, and Eleanor. His son, Howard, was later hired by the RV as a conductor in 1952.

Snyder retired in 1939 and moved to Miami, Florida. He was deceased by 1950.
