The CNJ constructed a roundhouse as part of its Cranford engine servicing facility in 1913. The structure featured eight enclosed stalls, each measuring ninety-one feet deep and containing an inspection pit. Adjoining the roundhouse was the foreman’s office, a small storage room, an air compressor shop, machine room, and a boiler room. The roundhouse had an eighty-foot turntable, operated by air, that was built in 1913 by the American Bridge Co. The conversion to diesel-electric power by the CNJ permitted the centralization of motive power servicing facilities. The roundhouse was sold off by the CNJ in about 1954 and was converted for other purposes. Polaris Plastics occupied the building in the 1970s. The building is currently (2023) utilized by the Cranford Department of Public Works
